All-solid-state-batteries Handling Precautions for Safe Use
All-solid-state batteries may release internal chemical substances to the outside if handled improperly, due to distortion or deformation. Furthermore, this may cause heat generation, crack, or fracture. To prevent accidents, pay sufficient attention to the following precautions. Also refer to them when you are describing in your instruction manual how to handle all-solid-state-batteries used in your application. These batteries are not available for sale to individual customers. If you wish to replace the battery in your device, please contact the store where you purchased the device or the device manufacturer.
DANGER
- Do not expose the battery to water, seawater, or other liquids.
Doing so may cause corrosion and the generation of flammable gases. - Do not charge with unspecified conditions.
Doing so may cause heat generation, crack, or fracture. - Do not use the battery with the ⊕ and ⊖ terminals reversed.
Doing so may cause the battery to be short-circuited or over-discharged, resulting in heat generation, crack, or fracture. - Do not connect the battery directly to a power outlet or a vehicle cigarette lighter socket without using a charger.
Doing so may result in excessive current due to high voltage, leading to heat generation, crack, or fracture. - Do not use the battery for applications other than those specified.
Doing so may cause abnormal current flow depending on the equipment, which may result in damage to the battery, leading to heat generation, crack, or fracture. - Do not dispose of the battery in fire or heat it.
Doing so may cause the insulating materials to melt, leading to heat generation, crack, or fracture. - Do not subject the battery to strong impacts or throw it.
Doing so may cause deformation or damage to the battery, leading to heat generation, crack, or fracture. - Do not drive nails into, hammer, or step on the battery.
Doing so may cause deformation or damage to the battery, leading to heat generation, crack, or fracture. - Do not disassemble, modify, or apply strong pressure to the battery.
Doing so may cause damage to the battery, leading to heat generation, crack, or fracture.
WARNING
- Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Doing so may result in dangerous conditions. - Do not use new and used batteries together. Do not use different types of batteries together.
Doing so may cause differences in voltage, capacity, or other characteristics, leading to heat generation, crack, or fracture. - If the battery fractures and internal chemical substances enter the eyes, do not rub them. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, and seek medical attention immediately.
Failure to do so may result in eye injury. - If the battery is swallowed, induce vomiting if possible and seek medical attention immediately.
CAUTION
- Store and use the battery in locations away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, and high humidity.
Doing so may cause heat generation, crack, or fracture. It may also degrade battery performance and reduce its service life. - Read all instructions carefully before using the battery. If the instructions are not fully understood, contact us for clarification.
- Do not use the battery if it is chipped, cracked, or has visible fractures.
- If internal chemical substances from the battery are released and come into contact with the skin or clothing, rinse immediately with clean water.
Doing so helps prevent skin irritation.
Requests Regarding Quality Assurance and Ensuring Safety
When considering the following please contact FDK beforehand to ensure quality and safety standards:
- ① Mounting batteries by hand soldering.
- ② Connecting batteries in series or in parallel on circuits.
- ③ Using the batteries for medical.
