FDK CORPORATION (President and CEO: Hiroshi Shimozono) has confirmed stable discharge performance of its oxide-based small all-solid-state SMD battery, SoLiCell®, at 150°C.
FDK has been developing SoLiCell®, an oxide-based small all-solid-state SMD battery that delivers a high output voltage of 3V while offering enhanced safety and environmental friendliness. Composed of non-combustible materials and oxide-based ceramic sintered bodies, SoLiCell® is compatible with reflow soldering as a surface-mount component. FDK has been providing samples for a wide range of applications, including RTC backup power, IoT devices, and energy harvesting devices.
In recent years, demand has been increasing for compact power sources capable of operating in environments where conventional batteries cannot be used, particularly around manufacturing equipment and other high-temperature systems.
To confirm the discharge performance of SoLiCell® in high-temperature environments, FDK conducted tests in which the battery was charged at 23°C and discharged at 150°C. The results confirmed that the battery maintained stable discharge performance even in a 150°C environment while retaining at least 60% of its nominal discharge capacity.
These results demonstrate the potential of SoLiCell® as a compact power source for devices that cannot use conventional batteries, such as sensing and communication devices used in high-temperature environments.
FDK will continue to provide samples of the SCC4532K and SCD4532K.
