FDK CORPORATION (Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market: Code 6955) has completed the development of the "CR17500EX", a high-capacity model in its Cylindrical-type Lithium Primary Battery High Power series, and has established a mass production system. Mass production is scheduled to begin in the 2^nd half of the current fiscal year.

Cylindrical-type Lithium Primary Battery - High Power "CR17500EX"

Lithium batteries developed and manufactured at FDK’s Tottori Plant (Iwami-cho, Iwami-gun, Tottori, Japan) are widely used in both domestic and international markets. These applications include smart meter devices, IoT equipment, security systems, fire and gas alarms, medical devices, and automotive electronics.

With increasing demand from customers for longer battery life and higher capacity in our core Cylindrical-type Lithium Primary Batteries, FDK undertook a thorough review of the battery’s structure and components. The result is the development of the "CR17500EX", which delivers a 17% increase in capacity compared to the existing CR17500EP model while maintaining the same physical dimensions. This increased capacity enables longer operating times for installed devices and helps reduce the number of batteries required, contributing to improved design efficiency and cost savings. The "CR17500EX" is also compliant with major international standards and regulations, including the EU RoHS Directive, Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, and UL Safety Standard (File No. MH13421, United States).
