| FDK Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange 1st Section: Code 6955), a global
electronic component and battery manufacturer, announces the addition of
eight new dc/dc converters to its Senpai Series of non-isolated point-of-load
converters. Operating from a 6.0 Volt - 14.0 Volt (V) DC input bus with
a tightly regulated programmable output voltage of 0.75V to 5.5V DC, these
converters incorporate an output voltage tracking function that enables
various sequenced power-up and power-down scenarios when using multiple
converters. The FPMS12T converters deliver up to 55 watts (W) of output
power at a power density of up to 600W/cubic inch and the FPLS12T converters
deliver up to 165W at a power density of up to 560W/cubic inch. With little
or no derating up to 85 degrees Celsius, these converters provide best-in-class
thermal performance. The FPMS12T converters are offered in 6A, 8A, and 10A output current models, in a 1.0 * 0.472 * 0.195 inch (25.4 * 12.0 * 4.95mm) industry-standard SIP package. The FPLS12T converters are offered in 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, and 30A output current models, in a 2.0 * 0.535 * 0.275 inch (50.8 * 13.6 * 7.0mm) industry-standard SIP package. All models feature remote ON/OFF, over-current and over-temperature protection, and output voltage adjust, and are compatible with standard trim equations. The output voltage tracking function supports three kinds of sequenced start-up and shut-down scenarios: sequential, simultaneous, and ratiometric. Applications for the Senpai Series of point of load converters include Intermediate Bus Architectures (IBA) and Distributed Power Architectures (DPA) in telecommunications, data processing, networking and computing, and other applications that require high efficiency, tight regulation, and high reliability in elevated temperature environments. "The FPMS12T and the FPLS12T converters combine the industry-leading thermal performance of the standard Senpai Series POLs with a voltage tracking capability", said Dr. Apurba Roy, executive advisor, FDK Corporation. They are manufactured using FDK's state of the art in-house manufacturing processes and systems in Japan. In quantities of 1,000 pieces, the FPMS12T converters are priced at $7.00, $8.00, and $10.00 for the 6A, 8A, and 10A models, respectively, and the FPLS12T converters are priced at $11.00, $14.00, $16.00, $18.00 and $20.00 for the 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, and 30A models, respectively.
