FDK Corporation developed new multilayer power chip inductor models for compact electronics apparatus such as cellular phones. The "MIPF2016 series" are the world's smallest multilayer power chip inductors succeeded to reduce by 40% in volume of MIPF2025 series while realize the high performance equivalent to MIPF2025 series. Cellular phones have been increased numbers of new functions by adoption of high-definition cameras, GPS functions, 1-segment broadcasting receivers, etc in 3G cellular phones. Thus, mounting space per part became smaller and those devices applied to use in 3G cellular phones have been forced to be smaller. It would also affect on the efficiency of electric circulation and thus those mobile phones tend to adopt converter circuits. Corresponding this circumstance, FDK has tackled the downsizing of power inductors, which are the key parts of converters. Adopted the new inner structure and used the low-temperature sintering technology, MIPF2016 series succeeded to reduce by 40% in volume of MIPF2025 series, which was the world's smallest power inductors then, while realize the high performance equivalent to MIPF2025 series. FDK will continuously develop new products to respond customer needs. MIPF2016 series will be exhibited in Techno-Frontier 2006 that will be held at Makuhari Messe from April 19 to 21.
