Multilayer Chip Baluns "AMB1608C series"
|
FDK Corporation(Tokyo Stock Exchange 1st section: Code 6955) announced
the development of four multilayer chip baluns for WiMAX and Mobile WiMAX.
Although at 1.6 x0.8x0.6 millimeters they are the world's smallest multilayer
baluns, they have a low insertion loss of 0.6dB and best in class frequencies
of 2.5GHz and 3.6GHz for extremely high performance. These multilayer chip
baluns are necessary for impedance matching between equilibrium / non-equilibrium
circuits in RF circuits for WiMAX communications equipment such as mobile
phones, PDAs, and car navigation systems.
FDK's new chip baluns can achieve the lowest insertion loss in a 1608 size
due to FDK's success in the development of low temperature firing materials
and optimization of the multilayer pattern, which are developed from FDK's
long established ceramics material technology, multilayer process technology,
and CAE technology. The baluns comply with the European Union's RoHS Directives.
WiMAX is a high-speed wireless data transmission system which can provide
long reach and high-speed mobile data. In areas where it is difficult to
install cable or DSL, WiMAX provides a wireless alternative for last mile
broadband access and provides high-speed mobile data for mobile equipment.
Samples of the new baluns will ship in April 2007. The baluns will be exhibited
at Techno-Frontier 2007in Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan from April 18-20,
2007 in Hall 5 Booth 5406.
